Hello everyone.
Firstly, D and I want to thank you for all the encouraging comments about our doll house. We look forward to showing you the next room.
We have finally had a hot and sunny week here in our small corner, and both D and I have been taking advantage of this by being outside as much as possible. There is now a lot of colour appearing in both the front and back gardens.
Here are some of the plants currently flowering in our back garden.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that we were working on the L-shaped part of the back garden outside the back door. Hubby has been very busy putting together another raised bed, which I quickly filled. He is now working on a second bed to match on the other side.
These last few pictures are of the alpine bed on top our dustbin area. It is pretty to look at and the plants have loved the sun this week.
On Monday, D, hubby and I took a trip to Bewdley, which is not far away from where we live.
D has also been spending some time baking in the kitchen, and we all enjoyed her chicken, bacon and leek pie.
I had half eaten the meal before remembering to take a photo!
As well as all the gardening, I have taken full advantage of the weather to do as much of the bulkier items of washing as possible, which included the covers for our three-piece suite. They dried brilliantly outside. It has been a good week here.
With the weather set to change again back to more rain, there will be more indoor crafting and some work in the greenhouse for us this next week.
I love your back garden. Wow, wow. What a peaceful place to grow things. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. Cheers, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteIt is so lovely to sit out when the weather permits and enjoy the plants and wildlife. We live in an area that is within walking distance of the countryside but also easy to get in to the city or further when needed. Win win really :-)
DeleteHave a good week yourself.
The weather this past week has certainly been so much better, and it's been lovely to get out and about in the sunshine :)
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking a treat, so many beautiful plants and flowers and the colours are so nice.
Your trip to Bewdley looks and sounds good and a big YUM for the chicken, bacon and leek pie.
Enjoy the coming new week.
All the best Jan
It's cooler today and rain is forecast later. On a positive note, at least I won't need the watering can.
DeleteD's pie was super delicious. She can definitely make that again. Have a good week, Jan.
Your garden is repaying all your hard work - what a lovely sight.
ReplyDeleteIt has been good to see and feel the sun, but it's already cooler, with drizzle forecast later today.
D's pie looks scrumptious.
It is dry at the moment but the air is much cooler and it looks like rain will be here by 4pm. Next few days look a little drizzly but not cold. I can deal with that. Thank you for your kind comment about the garden. It is my favourite place to be at the moment. Can't wait for more of D's pie. It was delicious.
DeleteYour garden is looking beautiful! The plants really appear to be enjoying the recent sunshine. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jules. The sun is shining at the moment and I enjoyed my morning stroll around the garden just like you.
Deleteit looks like we all spent the weekend in the garden! Wasn't it just glorious? I think I would enjoy relaxing in your back garden, it looks calm and inviting, and colourful, too. x
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely week and weekend . I think we have all been longing for a spell of sunshine to enjoy. We still have 'work in progress' debry to clear up but that's what happens when working on a big project. There is still lots of colour to enjoy though x
DeleteIt's lovely to see all the flowers open up in the good weather, hasn't it been glorious. Bewdley looks like a nice place to visit. I always find in calming to sit or walk by water and the antics of the waterbirds can keep me amused for hours. Yum, that pie looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteSunshine, however small always makes me feel better and happier. As it was Bank holiday, Bewdley was busy down by the river but it was still a lovely walk and the antics of the geese made us all laugh. Yes, the pie was very tasty too :-)
DeleteThe weather has been glorious hasn't it. What are you filling your raised planters with
ReplyDeleteIt has been perfect weather and I have just wanted to be outside all the time. The newest long raised bed currently has some peas, cosmos and sunflowers which I grew from seed. Fuchsia and pelargoniums were bought and I intend to take cuttings from them. The opposite bed that is still under construction will have lettuce and I'm not sure what else. All the other raised beds have veg grown from seed. The beds themselves are half filled with garden soil and topped up with compost. Happy gardening.
DeleteI love your planter boxes...so tidy!
ReplyDeleteAnd all the flowers! The pie looks delicious, as well.
Happy Week!
hugs
Donna
I am really pleased with the way the planters are looking. A lot of hard work for hubby but they look so good. I enjoyed planting the first one up last week. Hope you have a lovely week.
DeleteRaised planters make gardening so much easier!
ReplyDeleteMy raised beds are really helpful especially if my back is not feeling good.
ReplyDeleteYay for sunny, warm days! They are the best. Your garden is coming along beautifully. I love the green paint color on your raised beds. D did an excellent job making the chicken pie. It looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you,Julia. The paint colour that we are using is called 'willow'. The pie was so good - a real success and very quickly eaten. D enjoys baking whenever she has time.
DeleteYour garden and beds are loving the sunny warmer weather! Everything looks so beautiful. I do not have a green thumb but so enjoy all the beauty that others seem to grow! Thanks for sharing your photos. I enjoyed your post and finding my way to your blog (from another blog along the way!) :)
ReplyDeleteHello Jennifer. It is good to find new blogging friends from all over the world and we really appreciate your visit. Thank you for the kind words about the garden.
