Hello everyone.
I hope you have all had a good week. It has been an unexpected week here and not a very welcome one, either. Before I start, let me reassure you that I am okay!
For some time, I have had a few gastric issues, which have been under control, but on Tuesday, life took a different turn. I started getting chest pains around teatime, and hubby whisked me off to the hospital to get checked out. After blood tests, X-rays, blood checks and a 9-hour wait, I was given the all-clear. It was a scary evening but ended positively, knowing my heart was still ticking as usual.
The following morning, another of my teeth fell apart, requiring yet another dental visit. I jokingly said, " Shall I bring my bed next time? "
While I am very grateful for all the care I received, I now want to avoid dentists, doctors, and other medical professionals for as long as possible.
With such an eventful week, I'm afraid there's not much more for me to say, but D has been baking again.

Hi everyone - D, here.
While Mum has had an eventful week, I decided to cheer her up with a cheesecake. When I mentioned the idea to Dad, his eyes lit up as well—I was definitely making the cheesecake then.
I used a recipe from Jane's Patisserie. However, I modified it slightly because I couldn't find shortbread biscuits at the supermarket for the base. I used Malted Milk biscuits and added melted white chocolate, so in the end, I made a White Chocolate and Lemon Cheesecake.
I was pleased with the result, and so were Mum and Dad. I only finished the cheesecake yesterday morning, and it's already half gone.
Mum and I hope you all have a far less eventful week than the one in this small corner.
My sympathies with the gastric issues and crumbing teeth - but pleased to know your heart is still in the right place. That cheesecake looks very tasty! Keep eating soft food!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angela. I'm just feeling a little tired but otherwise I'm fine and being cautious with eating certain foods. D's cheesecake is wonderful and so creamy. Hope your weekend has gone well and next week is a good one for you.
DeleteOh goodness, I'm so glad that all was well after the checks you had. I hope your tooth can be sorted soon. D - your cheesecake looks delicious:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rosie. It was not my plan for a Tuesday evening but at least all is well with my heart. Better to be safe than sorry. Tooth is currently fixed as well. I just need to be mindful of the things i'm eating. The cheesecake was fine though!
DeleteSo sorry to hear you've had an unpleasantly eventful week, but glad that you're well. Keep well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Janice. I don't want a boring week but one that is a little less eventful would be welcome.
ReplyDeleteVery un-nerving for you. So glad all was well. And I'm sure you enjoyed the cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. Chest pain is always best checked out even if it turns out to be nothing. I just feel a bit tired at the moment but that will pass. Yes, the cheesecake is delicious. I couldn't say no to that could I !
DeleteI'm so sorry you had such an eventful week, in the wrong way! So glad you were given the all-clear. D's cheesecake looks marvelous and a good way to turn the week around.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah. I am fine now. Just not one of my better weeks. Fortunately for both of us we have those around who love and care and stand by us in times of need. The cheesecake definately put a smile back on my face.

Thank you for your kind words, Jan. I'm having a much better start to the week.
DeleteI hope things go well with your dental visit. Currently my teeth are ok but I'm saying that very quietly!
