Beautiful. Happy Valentines Day π π π
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely Valentine's Day, Linda. It was good to be able to recognise some positive things this week.
DeleteThat Hellebore is a beautiful colour. I planted my garlic outside in November. It's not covered and looks really strong. Daffodil are starting to appear around the green space in my neighbourhood. We have a few more really cold nights forecast then some fairly mild ones. Spring is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteThe Hellebore is indeed a lovely colour. After all the rain , I thought it might not have survived. I need to have more faith in its survival and resilience powers. I'm hoping the garlic will be ok but our ground is quite wet at the moment. They do have good roots though which is a good sign. I hope it won't be long before the daffs start to flower and herald in Spring. Have a lovely week, whatever the weather, Cherie.
DeleteYour house looks like a wonderfully productive space this weekend. And those shortbread biscuits look delicious. Have a lovely Sunday, Beverley. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jules. As you know, D and I love baking together and it was a good way to start the half term holidays. D is getting her dad to help her with a few more shortbread shapes this afternoon. I shall be moving those chillies into new pots this week. Have a good week and I hope you can get outside and enjoy more walking.
DeleteIt was a beautiful day yesterday, sunshine and blue skies, it makes a change from all the rain we've had just lately. Signs of spring are definitely showing themselves now, and I'm loving the lengthening hours of daylight. I hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo. I had a lovely day made all the better with the sunshine. Despite the weather, new buds are starting to show, a sure sign that Spring is on the way.
DeleteTempting looking biscuits. π
ReplyDeleteWe tried them today and they were delicious. D and my hubby made some more today.
DeleteThose cookies are so pretty and look delicious! It's amazing how dry sunny days and spending time outside really lift our moods. I'm glad you had a lovely and productive Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies were fun to make and we enjoyed decorating them with some icing and D's letter stampers. It was lovely to see the sun yesterday and blue skies too. A happy day for lots of reasons. Glad you enjoyed your day too.
DeleteHave a good week, Julia.
Your heart shaped shortbread look delicious, a lovely idea for Valentines Day and weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour hellebore is a beautiful colour, I do enjoy seeing them at this time of year.
I had a lovely family time on Sunday, the grandchildren were there too and it was fun to talk with them and hear what their half term plans are ...
Hope 'D' enjoys her half term break.
I wish you a happy week ahead, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Shortbread is so easy to make and we have lots of shape cutters to play with. D had the letter stampers for Christmas.
DeleteThe hellebore is such a lovely colour.
Glad you had such a good time with family yesterday and the grandchildren must have been excited to tell you about what they plan to do this week. D has the dentist tomorrow and then she can enjoy the rest of her week.
Have a good week yourself.
I can't believe all the signs of spring you are enjoying! We had a nice rain today...it is making real progress on melting our snow. Still have big piles but there are signs of yards and flowerbeds. Signs of spring will come soon! Those shortbread are awful sweet. Hope you had a lovely weekend...and here's to a good week ahead! Happy Monday friend!
ReplyDeleteThe snow won't last forever and it is good to hear that it is starting to melt in your neighbourhood. I am eager to look for signs of Spring. This morning I saw the yellow buds of the first daffodil in my garden. It gave me a lot of pleasure. The shortbread was delicious and a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
DeleteSpring is coming ever closer. π
The biscuits look wonderful, glad you found things to bring joy. Have a good half term week:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're getting busy in the garden!
ReplyDeletehugs

I can't wait to spend more time outside but for now the rain still makes its presence felt. Still, there are a few things to do in the greenhouse to keep me going for now.
DeleteHave a good week x
With all the gloomy and wet days we have had so far this year, I thought it would be good to look for some of the happier things to share with you. D and I had fun with the shortbread biscuits and it was even more so with the stampers. Hope this week is a good one for you, Rosie.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Rosie. The above comment was aresponse to your comment.
DeleteSigns of Spring are definitely there now, aren't they πOur potatoes are sprouting too and Gray is sowing a few seeds like broad beans ready to take to the allotment next month. We have had rain again today so it doesn't feel any warmer, but nature knows different π
ReplyDeleteThat shortbread looks lovely, Beverley.
Angie ❤️
It feels good to start a few seeds off now and see them start to sprout. Yesterday was very wet but today we have a break, and although cold, at least it is dry. Spring is surely on the way. D makes delicious shortbread, which of course means it doesn't last long. π€£
DeleteLooks like your new planting season is all ready to go. Wonderful! Looking forward to seeing some of that spring weather. I loved those Valentine cookies, and I bet they tasted great. We may be getting 6 inches of snow this weekend, so looks like we have a ways yet. Still, I am enjoying the higher temperatures this week. A couple of days in the low 60s. Makes me want to do a happy dance. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJust a few seeds started but it makes me feel good to see them begin to grow. It is still too cold and wet for most things to go out side still. I hope it won't be much longer before the snow disappears for you and you can look forward to longer and warmer days. Shortbread was delicious. Thank you D, for sharing your baking.
DeleteIt's so wonderful that the first seeds have sprouted, and it already looks very much like spring where you are.
ReplyDeleteThe Valentine's Day hearts were certainly delicious and very welcome.
We got a lot of fresh snow; I even went skiing today... well, it didn't bother me at all, but rather delighted me, because it looked absolutely beautiful today... I don't think this weather will last long.
The snowdrops will appear as soon as the snow melts again... I have yellow daffodils on the living room table.
Warmest regards to the three of you, have a wonderful week.
I'm glad you got to do more skiing today. I know how much you enjoy that. When the snow is gone you will be able to enjoy the Spring flowers as they start to appear - snowdrops and daffodils to brighten the garden and your table.
DeleteThe Valentine cookies were fun to make with D but the baked goodies disappear very quickly from the plate.
Have a lovely rest of the week and enjoy the snow while you can.
Hope your Valentines' Day was lovely in every way.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carrie. We had a lovely day.
DeleteA bit late but from my heart: Happy Valentine’s Day. I spent mine volunteering. We planted about 500 trees, mixed species. It was so much fun! Cx
ReplyDeleteAww bless you Christina. That is so kind of you. It looks like you enjoyed the day too, but in a different way. That was a lot of trees you planted, but must have you given a great deal of satisfaction knowing the good you are doing for the environment. I hope you had a good rest when you got home xx
DeleteThe biscuits look very pretty too good to eat!! Well done on the seed sowing, I'm a bit more organised this year and have some germinated already.
ReplyDeleteThe biscuits were fun to decorate but I'm afraid they disappeared very quickly. A certain lack of will power I think. I haven't sown any more seeds this week but I need to move the chillis and Cobaea ( cup and saucer vine ) into larger pots. I do hope your seeds are all doing well as we wait for the weather to improve before planting them out. Enjoy your weekend, Chris x
DeletePotatoes and heart cookies! Count me in. ❤️
