Hello everyone.
It's D here this week, standing in for Mum. Thank you all for your kind wishes last week when I was feeling unwell. Unfortunately, although I'm better, those pesky germ bugs are currently visiting Mum.
Earlier in the week, she found time to take some photos in the garden, and I thought you would like to see them.
As many of you know, Mum was working on one of her 'big' projects last year with the wedding cross stitch for my brother and sister-in-law. Her new project involves yarn, of which she already has a lot. She is going to make a new blanket using a pattern from Lucy. I know she will enjoy working on this pattern and can take her time with it. Here are a few of the first rows of crochet. I hope you all have a good week.

Hello 'D' pleased you are now feeling better but sorry to read the nasty bugs are now visiting your mum ... sending lots of good wishes and hoping she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs from the garden and I do like the colours in the new blanket.
All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan. I do feel much better now and I'm sure it won't be long before Mum is fighting fit again. It is lovely to see a bit of colour in the garden, and I'm sure that Mum's new blanket will be a riot of colour, too. Have a good week. D x
DeleteThose bulbs should produce a fantastic display soon, I live the colours on the crochet, a bright start to my morning. Thanks for taking the time to stepping and write this post, I do hope Beverley I feeling better soon 🥰
ReplyDeleteI think the bulbs are daffodils and tulips, but I am still a novice gardner myself. I look forward to seeing the colours when they bloom. I'll pass on your best wishes to Mum. D x
DeleteHope your mum is feeling better soon, hopefully the shoots from the bulbs will give her some joy. Love the blanket, the colours just sing.
ReplyDeleteMum says thank you and that she will come blog visiting later in the week. I am looking foward to the bulb display, too. The blanket is also a rainbow of bright colours. D x
DeleteVery generous of you to share your germs, D! 😀 I hope your mother soon feels better. It's lovely to see signs of spring in the garden, particularly on a dull, grey day.
ReplyDeleteI always like to share with Mum! :-) Although maybe not these germs. We all need a bit of colour on a cold drizzly January afternoon. Have a good week. D x
DeleteReally sorry your mum is unwell. Please give her my love and hopes for a swift recovery and thanks for posting. xx
ReplyDeleteAww! Thanks, Joy. Mum will really appreciate that. D x
DeleteIt's so exciting to see those first little green shoots in the garden!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing the colours of these bulbs and other Spring colours. D x
DeleteLovely bright crochet and wonderful to see so many shoots appearing. I love Hellebores and yours is a lovely colour. I hope your Mum feels well again soon:)
ReplyDeleteMum is using up quite a bit of her yarn stock with this new blanket. I really love it and wouldn't mind it on my bed when it's finished. Mum still has the cough but is feeling a bit better in herself. The Hellebore is in the woodland garden and I think mum should get a few more to make a bigger display for next year. Have a good week, Rosie.

First of all, all the best wishes for you both.
ReplyDeleteThe blanket will be magnificent, what beautiful colors.
I like it very much.
Best wishes - get well soon.
Viola
Thank you, Viola. Mum is still full of cold but much better than she was. I can't wait to see the blanket when it's finished. It is so bright and colourful already. Have a lovely week.

It is so kind of you D. I am glad you are feeling better but sorry to know your mum is down with it now. Please wish her a speedy recovery from me and tell her how much I enjoyed her flowers and that beautiful new blanket. So colorful and would definitely brighten any winter day. Thank you also for sharing them with us. Wishing you all a lovely weekend coming up and a healthy one too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise. I will pass on your good wishes to mum. Her blanket is slowly growing as she adds new colours and it will brighten any day when finished. Have a lovely weekend and stay well yourself. D x
DeleteGlad you're feeling better, hope your Mum feels better soon. The plants are looking good, they look hopeful of a good season. It's nice having some crochet on the go, very relaxing. Take care x
ReplyDeleteWe are both feeling much better, thank you. Slowly but surely new shoots are appearing in the garden and the hope of Spring is just around the corner. The crochet is looking lovely and I am looking forward to using it at a later date. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. D x
DeleteHope she feels better soon. Sadly, there are lots of bugs going round and we all keep passing them back and forth. Get well and stay well. Love the colors in the ghan, very spring like, and love seeing things growing in the garden, we're no way near seeing that yet.
ReplyDeleteI think it is just that time of the year when nasty bugs seem to get the upper hand unfortunately. The blanket is so colourful and cheerful. A very happy piece of crochet. I hope it won't be too long before you see some Spring growth starting in your corner. D x
DeleteI love the colors of that blanket!! Hope everyone is feeling well soon. Best wishes to you both.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind wishes, Jennifer. We are both so much better than we were a few days ago . Mum's blanket is very colourful and cheery on a cold and wet Winter's day and it will be so cosy when she finishes it. I can't wait to start using it.
DeleteOh my gosh. I can't wait to get into the garden this year. And for sure when we move to have a proper garden. That's the dream. Love the blanket. Very nicely done, too.
ReplyDeleteEven a small patch of garden will be so lovely to enjoy. I couldn't live anywhere without a garden space of some kind.
DeleteThe blanket is a real pleasure to work on and I can take my time with it. Not sure where it will end up when finished but I think D has her eyes on it already :-)
