A Hot and Quiet Week

Hello friends.

It has been very quiet in this small corner, and there is very little for me to say this week. I've just been trying to stay cool.

It has been a quick stroll around the garden in the early morning to check on the plants and to pick the Sweet Peas that are appearing daily in abundance. They are benefiting from the grey water from the kitchen sink and are flowering profusely.

For the rest of the week, I stayed inside, which gave me the opportunity to read a whole book, which is a rare treat for me. I do enjoy James Patterson's books and like the very short chapter style.

Wherever you are in the world, I hope and pray that you and your family are staying safe and well. Have a good week ahead.

  3. Your flowers are beautiful. I think many of us just stayed indoors out of the blistering heat. We sat in front of fans and did as little as we could get away with.

    1. I will be thinking of you this week, Linda and hope you can find a little cool spot to rest in. It should be less hot here. Glad you enjoyed my short post and the Sweet Peas which are so wonderfully scented.

  5. My sweet peas are doing so well and scenting my patio outside the kitchen. The only problem is.....they are all white. I sowed colours but none have appeared!

    1. That is unusual to have all white Sweet Peas but they are obviously just as beautfully scented as coloured ones.

    1. It really has been too hot for most of us this week hasn't it. However sitting down and simply reading has been an unexpected pleasure that I need to find more time to do. Have a good week, Rosie. 😊

    1. Sweet Peas are so wonderfully scented and as they are just outside the back door, I can pick a few every day. Glad you enjoyed the tennis.

  8. Your sweet peas are gorgeous, I can just imagine the lovely scent from them :-) Mine have been very poor this year and I've missed them. It's supposed to get a bit cooler over the next few day thank goodness, we aren't geared up for the high temperatures we've been having. Take care

    1. Hoping that Monday has started a bit cooler for you. It certainly feels better here and there is a lovely breeze at the moment. I didn't think our Sweet Peas were going to do well this year and then suddenly they surprised me. They have had plenty of grey water from the kitchen sink which I think has helped and of course I'm picking every day to keep the blooms going for as long as possible. Hopefully next year your Sweet Peas will be much better. Enjoy your week and take care.

    1. It is always a lovely surprise to see the colours in the Sweet Peas and the scent is almost intoxicating. Not to everyones taste but I love it.
Fans have been so good over the last few days and although we don't use them often, they have been a huge help over the last few days.
      Have a lovely week.

  14. Hopefully it is cooler today where you are, Angela. Shame about your Sweet Peas, thay are beautiful flowers. I always start mine off in old toilet roll centres to allow the roots to develop. I just push two seeds in per roll and am careful with the watering until they germinate. Maybe next year will be a better year to try again. I hope you have more success with them.
