Hello friends
Today has been bright and sunny, and hubby and I have spent the day working and sitting in the garden. The big job we tackled was the garden shed, complete with a few resident spiders! It is amazing how much accumulates in the shed in just 12 months. We/I have been quite ruthless in the clearing out, and by the end of the day, this is how it now looks. At least we can get in there now without breaking our necks trying to reach the far corner for that rarely-used elusive tool.
It has been dry and sunny for most of the week here. It was my birthday on Tuesday, and a real treat to enjoy the unusual seasonal warmth. The night temperatures are still low, so I won't be planting much in the garden yet, but it is good to have a cuppa outside during the day.
I do, however, have potatoes sprouting indoors, which will be ready to plant out in a few weeks.
Also, these bright daffodil blooms are enjoying the sunshine from my kitchen window.
From our small corner to yours, wherever you live, all three of us, hubby D and myself wish you a happy and sunny week as Spring begins to unfurl her beauty.
The weather has been wonderful, belated birthday wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I had a lovely day and the sunshine was wonderful to enjoy.
DeleteMy potatoes have n9t sprouted as much as yours have. I hope they will soon!
ReplyDeleteThe potatoes are sitting on the dresser in the kitchen at the moment which is out of direct light but warm enough for them to sprout. Good luck with your potato harvest this year, Angela.
DeleteSheds do seem to mysteriously fill up with random things!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do fill up with all sorts of stuff very quickly. I wonder how long it will stay tidy for now!!
DeleteBelated Happy Birthday Wishes.
ReplyDeleteWell done on your garden shed it looks so wonderfully organised and tidy.
Your daffodils are lovely ... a friend visited yesterday and presented me with a wonderful bunch of them, they have opened up so nicely.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a good week ahead.
All the best Jan
Daffodils seem to just smile sunshine don't they. How kind of your friend to bring you a beautiful bunch of them to enjoy.
DeleteThank you for your birthday wishes, I had a lovely day.
I'm going to try and keep the shed tidy from now on but I can't promise. It will probably need doing again next Spring.
Have a good week.
It’s very satisfying to have a good garden tidy up, isn’t it? A very happy belated birthday! Have a good Sunday! 😁
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sal. Thank you for your birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I can actually walk inside the shed again!! Decluttering is working in the garden as well as the house.
Have a lovely Sunday.
It's good to have a tidy shed and good to have a sun on your birthday. The weather has been wonderful hasn't it? Belated Happy Birthday wishes:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosie. I had a lovely day. Both hubby and I must try to keep the shed tidy from now on. It does make gardening easier when you can find what you are looking for easily. Have a lovely week.
DeleteYour daffodils are so beautiful - I also bought some in the shop and they are from England, which makes me particularly happy. Last year we went on holiday to England for the first time and it was so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy working in the garden. The mole dug up some of my tulips and I put them back in the molehill :-))) The tulips will bloom in about four weeks, just like the daffodils... a hug from Viola and my very best wishes for your birthday.
Daffodils are such cheery Spring flowers, both as picked flowers and in the garden. We don't have moles but sometimes squirrels will dig up a few bulbs in the garden. Glad you enjoyed your visit to England last year and hope you come back again soon to see more places.
DeleteThank you for your kind birthday wishes, I had a lovely day.
There's nothing so cheery as a vase of daffodils. The weather has been glorious, hasn't it. It really makes you want to get outdoors and tackle the jobs that have been waiting over winter. Your shed looks very neat and tidy, it'll be so easy to find the things you need now.
ReplyDeleteThe daffodils seem to make the room glow with their cheerfulness. It's a bit cooler today but I know the sun will return before too long. Let's see how long the tidy shed lasts :-)
DeleteEnjoy the week ahead .
Happy Birthday!!! Your daffs are beautiful and that's a great job on your shed. Thanks for popping over. Always lovely to see you there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise. It is always good to hear from you too. The daffodils have been flowering on the window sill for nearly a week now and are still bright and cheerful. The shed is so much easier to get inside now without tripping over stuff. I hope it stays that way.
DeleteHave a lovely rest of the week.
Belated Birthday wishes, Beverley! Those daffodils are beautful. Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jules. The daffodils are still providing extra sunshine on my kitchen window sill. x
DeleteDaffodils on a windowsill can only make you smile!! Hope it has been a sunny week so far!
ReplyDeleteHello Jennifer. The daffodils are still shining but the weather is a bit hit and miss this week. Never mind, the sun will be back soon enough and I am already looking forward to the weekend.
DeleteHit or misss definitely describes our weather of late as well!! Happy Friday!
DeleteI hope you had a lovely birthday! We have yet to see daffodils here, it has been a long and cold winter. It's funny how sheds seem to fill up themselves. Yours looks neat and tidy now, inspiring me to clean up my own!
ReplyDeleteI did. Thank you Sarah x
DeleteHow does that shed filling happen ? Does a gremlin sneek in at night? It was hard work clearing but I am pleased with how it looks now.
I love, love, love the ruthless approach do a good declutter. Well done, you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ivy. I'm feeling good about the declutter :-)
DeleteWonderful!
DeleteHappy birthday for Tuesday Beverley. I love your daffodils, they are so elegant and cheerful, you can't help but feel happy. Your shed looks great, I've tried hard with our shed but it's very small (bend down type small). We have a big workshop shed but that's for Mark and car fixing things. If anything goes in there it'll likely be lost or covered in dust from any work happening in there. He isn't a de-clutterer, more of a hoarder, so by keeping it separate, I can hopefully keep the inventory low. The previous owners left a drawer unit full of bits. I want to throw it all out, Mark wants to keep it all. I've thrown out lots from the old shed and the greenhouse already. We'll get there. Enjoy your tidy, clear shed :)
ReplyDeleteAnd still the daffodils continue to flower in my kitchen. They are lovely Spring blooms. My husband has always been a ' it might come in handy one day' person. I am gently nudging him to let go of a few things and with some compromising, space is slowly emerging.
DeleteYour shed is a marvel of organisation. I'm envious. It's lovely when the sun shines and we can go outside without shivering.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too envious. I can't guarantee how long it will stay like that especially with the work we are doing on the pond. I can live in hope though. It is so much nicer outside with a little bit of sunshine on our faces.
